Newland Hall Building Envelope & HVAC Improvements

Appalachian State University is accepting submissions for design services for the Newland Hall Building Envelope & HVAC Improvements. The project scope includes the Replacement of the Roofing Components, Site Retaining Walls, Stairs, Ramps & Walks, Replacement of  Foundation Waterproofing, Replacement of the Unit & Common Corridor HVAC Supply System, Fan-Coil Units & Hydronic Piping, Elevator Modernization and Associated Electrical Improvements.

ASU will choose between three and five firms for interviews. Along with the Letter of Interest, please submit the Information Sheet, relevant project experience and current SF-330 form. Submit ONE (1) HARD COPIES and ONE (1) ELECTRONIC PDF COPY by 15 August, 2022. Appalachian State University, Design & Construction, 2458 HWY 105 S, Boone NC 28607.

Historically Utilize Business (HUB) Designer are encourage to join the Appalachian State Team.

Duncan Hall Renovation and Peacock/Business

This project is comprised of two aspects: the full renovation of Edwin Duncan Hall & the addition to and subsequent renovation of the Walker College of Business located in Peacock Hall. The projects are combined because of their close proximity and schedules.

University Bookstore Remodel (2022)

Appalachian State University is seeking bidders interested in completing the University Bookstore Remodel in Boone, NC. (Last updated 7/27/2022 @ 12:20PM)

The project consists of an interior renovation of the first floor of the University Bookstore (Approximately 15,000 sq. ft.). In addition to architectural and finish items, the renovation includes reconfiguration of existing mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing. Exterior work includes adding a new entrance and reconfiguration of the existing canopy.

Some minor work on the second floor is anticipated to support the renovation. The second floor will be occupied and in use during the full duration of the renovation.

The deadline for submission is 3pm on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022.

Open End Agreements: Small Renovation and Construction Projects (2022)

Appalachian State University is accepting submittals for design services related to small renovation and construction projects (<$500,000). The Open-End Agreements will be utilized on an as-needed basis for up to a two-year period in the following disciplines:

  • Architectural
  • Asbestos Abatement (Design)
  • Civil Engineering/Landscape Design
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Engineering
  • Materials Testing/ Geotechnical Engineering
  • Building Envelope
  • Structural Engineering
  • Surveying

ASU will choose between three and five firms for each discipline. Along with the Letter of Interest, please submit the Information Sheet, relevant project experience and current SF-330 form. If you are submitting for more than one discipline, please submit a separate package for each discipline. Submit ONE (1) HARD COPIES and ONE (1) ELECTRONIC PDF COPY by 19 August, 2022.
